The Inland Empire/Pomona Valley arm of the Society for Calligraphy (SfC) is represented by new PVAA member, Kristi Darwick. The non-profit promotes low-cost education
in calligraphy and related arts, bringing instructors from southern California, and well beyond. SfC hosts an annual February conference on the grounds of Cal Poly Pomona, drawing participants from the U.S. and abroad. The group wishes to hold occasional workshops in the PVAA classroom and will hold introductory classes for PVAA members, if there is sufficient interest.
Kristi’s career was in I.T. and, after returning from a four year stint in the Netherlands, she began teaching calligraphy for UC Riverside extension, as well as for various art-based organizations, and privately. Kristi enjoys combining hand-lettering with simple watercolor, and is currently expanding her horizons through the study of graphic design.
