Ray Tucker received his B.A. in Art from California State University, Northridge. His emphasis was graphic design and education. He has only recently begun to revisit his art skills after working for over 40 years as a professional floral designer. Ray has had the experience of owning his own flower shop, private post secondary vocational school on the Los Angeles Flower Market, teaching in the ROP programs at Alhambra, Basset, Walnut High Schools, and teaching floral design for over 30 years at Mt. San Antonio College in the Agriculture Division. For the Older Adult Program at MTSAC he has taught Drawing for Beginning to Advanced students, and fee based classes in acrylic and oil painting for the cities of La Verne, and Diamond Bar.
His floral designs have been enjoyed by Mayor Tom Bradley of Los Angeles, The Duke and Duchess of York, Pope John XXIII, The Los Angeles Arboretum, Descanso Gardens, The Los Angeles County Fair, and The Tournament of Roses (designing the official parade cars),
He has been seen on the Discovery Channel’s “Christopher Lowelle’s Interior Motives” as well as local television channels.
An award winning artist, he is a member of AAIE, PVAA, and Mid Valley Art Association.
